Jury

The jury of the competition shall be appointed by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Institutional Relations of the Government of Navarra.

The Chairman of the jury will be R. Douglas Sheldon, and the Art Director Antoni Wit , including a minimum of five personalities from the world of management, representation and/or teaching of violin, the coordinator of the competition Joaquín Romero (Managing Director of the Navarra Symphony Orchestra) with a voice and no vote and the secretary of the competition Mª José Redín (Expert of DGC-IPV) with a voice and no vote.

The organisers will inform the registered competitors on the final members comprising of the jury in due course.

Antoni Wit

wit_peqAntoni Wit is one of the most highly regarded Polish conductors and a champion of Polish music. A top prize winner at the Herbert von Karajan International Conducting Competition in 1971 and an assistant to Herbert von Karajan at the Easter Festival in Salzburg, he subsequently worked with all of the leading orchestras in Poland before taking up the position of General and Artistic Director at the Warsaw Philharmonic in 2001 for twelve years until the end of the 2012/2013 season.

David Kim
