Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra

The current Navarra Symphony Orchestra was founded by Pablo Sarasate in 1879, so it is the oldest orchestral ensemble active nowadays in Spain.

The Navarra Symphony Orchestra plays a wide repertory, collaborates with world-renowned soloists and conductors, it is regarded as one of the best Spanish orchestras and is frequently invited to perform in concert halls and festivals of the utmost national an international significance, among wich include the serveral invitations to the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and the Théâtre du Châtelet at Paris, as it’s recent tour for Universal Music of major european concert halls (Konzerthaus de Viena, Concertgebow de Amsterdam, Gasteig de Munich, Smetana Saal de Praga, Festpielhaus-Baden Baden, etc.).

His complete works of Sarasate for Naxos with violinist Tianwa Yang has been unanimously praised by critics worldwide. Currently the OSN has as Principal Conductor and Artistic Antoni Wit and Cristóbal Soler as Associate Conductor.

The Orchestra runs a concert season with more than 2,200 subscribers in Pamplona. It is also a regular contributor to seasons of opera and lyrical performances in Pamplona, Bilbao, rest of Spain and abroad.

Navarra Symphony Orchestra receives grants from the Government of Navarra and Pamplona City Hall and is sponsored by private companies such as Diario de Navarra, Gas Natural Fenosa and “la Caixa”.
